The Maya Project

The Interreg II c project Maya "Marina and Yachting in the Lower North Sea, the Channel Area and the Irish Sea" is a transnational project which brings

together a number of aspects in the domain of maritime water sports and the spatial layout of marinas. The project is co-financed for about 50% by EFRO funds, put at the disposal of

the programme area ‘North West Metropolitan Area’ (NWMA) by

the European Commission within

the framework of the Interreg II c

programme.

The Maya Project

The Interreg II c project Maya "Marina and Yachting in the Lower North Sea, the Channel Area and the Irish Sea" is a transnational project which brings

together a number of aspects in the domain of maritime water sports and the spatial layout of marinas. The project is co-financed for about 50% by EFRO funds, put at the disposal of

the programme area ‘North West Metropolitan Area’ (NWMA) by

the European Commission within

the framework of the Interreg II c

programme. The project runs over

a period of 24 months.

The MAYA project is co-financed and is executed by 14 European regions, local authorities and other public bodies. Its participants are the following organizations and bodies:

In Belgium: the Province of West Flanders, and the cities of Blankenberge and Nieuwpoort

In France: the Syndicat mixte Dunkerque Neptune, and the Chamber of Commerce of Boulogne-sur-Mer

In the U.K.: the Colchester Borough Council,

the Ipswich Borough Council, the Waveney Borough Council and the Thanet District Council

In Ireland: the Marine Institute Dublin

In the Netherlands: the Province of Zeeland, the Ministry of Spatial Planning (VROM), the Province of South-Holland, the cities of Sluis-Aardenburg and the community of Oostburg
